Dune: Part Three hasn’t even dropped yet… and people are already paying crazy money to watch it.
70mm IMAX showings sold out within minutes, and now resale markets are going wild. Some tickets are being listed for $350–$500, while pairs are hitting $1,000+, and in extreme cases even thousands for premium seats.
That hype isn’t random. The film is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, shot partly for IMAX with very limited 70mm screenings — basically turning those seats into “scarce experiences” instead of normal movie tickets.
So is it worth it?
Honestly… not really.
The experience will be insane, no doubt — IMAX 70mm is the best way to watch something like this. But paying $1K is more about flexing access than enjoying the movie. More showtimes are expected to drop closer to release, and standard tickets will be way cheaper.
Right now, you’re not paying for the movie.
You’re paying for scarcity.
