Sylvester Stallone still owns the original turtles from Rocky nearly 50 years after the movie was released.

The turtles, named Cuff and Link, appeared in the 1976 classic during scenes at the pet shop where Rocky meets Adrian. What started as tiny background details in the film eventually became something much more personal, because Stallone decided to keep them instead of leaving them behind as props after filming ended.

Decades later, the turtles are reportedly still alive and living with him — becoming one of the most unexpected long-term connections to a movie in Hollywood history.

Fans online were emotional after learning the story because it reflects something deeper than nostalgia. In a film remembered for underdog determination and loyalty, even the smallest pieces of the movie carried meaning long after the cameras stopped rolling.

Sometimes it’s not the famous scenes people hold onto forever.

It’s the little things that quietly stay with them for life.
