Tyga is leveling up his acting career, securing his first-ever starring role in a film he also helped create from the ground up.

According to Deadline, the Cali rapper will lead the upcoming movie Baby, You’re a Star, a project he both produced and co-wrote alongside Curtis Bryant. The coming-of-age musical drama will also feature Madison Bailey and Ashton Sanders.

Currently in production in Portland, the film is set in 1989 and follows a young artist determined to break free from the limitations of his environment while navigating love, identity, and his passion for creative expression.

While this marks his first lead role, Tyga is no stranger to the screen. He’s previously appeared in films like Mac and Devin Go to High School, Dope, and Barbershop: The Next Cut, gradually building his acting résumé over the years.

With Baby, You’re a Star, Tyga isn’t just stepping in front of the camera — he’s shaping the story behind it, signaling a bigger move into filmmaking and storytelling.
